Arbitrary limits are apparently the easy way out of a non-trivial changes.
I expected more. |

In light of the proposed changes to capital deployment, we have at leadership level decided to focus our activities on capital manufacturing for the next 3 months.
I want every alliance member concentrating on: 1. buying capital pilots that are currently going on firesale 2. buying and building capitals
A list of strategic systems will be posted on our forums of where to store your capitals. Many players are claiming this change will stop force projection, we thought about it and rather than not adapt our aim is to have a capital fleet at our disposal in any area of the map. Our solution is quite simple focus on capital readiness by having capitals "to-go" in any area of eve. It will only take you 20 minutes - 30 minutes to use the jump bridges to high sec and move your pod across New Eden to our strategically placed capitals.
You all know me and I am all about adapting, this is us adapting.
See you on the battlefield Alliance leaders
Gotta love this. but.. but.. what about small guys?!
You're screwed, just like with every other change trying to hit large blocs only.
I'll smooth out within a year or 2 after you get a foothold in null and might be able to start super production for self defence. |

Thanks in advance.
No capital can enter hisec with these changes, but it's under discussion. This was said on the dev blog in clear words. |

I'm not stating smaller range, but additional rule : - you cannot bridge people between regions.
This will create more nice choke points, and introduce new mechanic to the game, and put more pressure about ground control. Capitals might jump between regions, but sub capital fleet WILL have to go by the regional gates.
I believe most regional gates are > 5 LY.
Yep, some exceptions exist where 2 regions hug each other by less than 5 LY while the regional gate is doing a 10+ LY hop. |

CFC / N3 / PL will still have the numbers, the isk and their Capital Fleets.
Will they? How many of the renters are going to stay under the alliance controls? Logistics to the Drone Regions for instance is going to become a pain in the butt and costs/time for hauling might mean many renter corps pull out. How much isk per month will the alliances lose from this I wonder? Markets are so bad in null its almost impossible to even sell ore, however I guess this could well pick up if it means limited hauling to Jita eh? Still, you could always just build everything in null and seed the markets and make a killing....oh, apart from the moon goon being in the wrong place and the distinct lack of mexallon...... Cap ships through gates?? que EVERY gate being bubbled permanently. Damn I love this game :)
NC: should have thought of drone regions being badly accessible before renting them out. |

That opens up a lot of opportunities for those that want a piece of the null pie but didn't previously have the manpower to do it. So CCP in one move get rid of the entitled dead wood and open up null to people that will actually use it. Win/win Mr Epeen No, it's going to simultaneously -do nothing, -change everything, -but chang only what people don't want it to -but wont change anything that people do want it to. I love it. I can't wait for these changes to hit. And whatever else they have in the development pipeline. 6 months after things will really start to get interesting.
I'm not really sure if you grasp the changes yourself.
But I do agree, 6 months from now people crying for nerf will be different than this round. |

When CCP makes a change like this, they can't predict with great accuracy what will happen. They might have a theory about what players will do, but they have no facts. No matter how smart you think you are, you have no facts either. Your theory may differ from theirs.
One thing is certain in a game like this. Stasis is bad. The current mechanics + player culture = two coalitions controlling a map that, for most 0.0 dwellers, is a sea of blue as far as the eye can see. In other words, the current mechanics have played themselves out, and this is the result. So, they theory-crafted some changes that they believe will shake things up. Maybe they will, and maybe they won't. It'll have to play out, and what happens will be the results of thousands of individual decisions that players make about how to adapt.
Nobody knows for sure what will happen. That's a hell of a lot better, when you're playing a game, than knowing for sure what will happen. Interesting times ahead. No you dont get it, the world is ending!!!! These changes will simultaneously do nothing and ruin errything!!!!1
So are you flipping your opinion or keeping it? |

No section of space has an inherently more skilled player base than any other, even if lowsec pilots do like to pretend the are the pinnacle of PvP skill. And again, if they are so skilled, why do they not win AT every single year? They can;t blame this on on blobbing like they blame everything else.
I know, I know!
Pick me! PIck me! Pick me!
*ahem* It's because they cannot win matches with a dual-tanked Deimos, off-grid boosts and a cloaked Falcon. |

Jump 2 to a cyno. Launch 2 rookie ships, light 2 cynos. Jump 4, launch 4 rookie ships. Jump 8... 16 32 64 128
That's 255 guys out in less than 5 minutes and they just leave the rookie ships behind.
This can be done 4 times for the whole fleet back-to-back. Tedium isn't good gameplay and it will be averted with stupid stuff like this. |

CPuiu wrote:Why are people making such long post. It isn't exactly rocket science.
this will make caps less safe and they will have to use gates if they want to jump long distances in null. smaller fights will happen more often because the bigger alliance can't bring in all of their caps as fast as before. escorts will finally be much more useful. hopefully this update will help the cap industry. there are just way too many ships in the game right now. smaller fights between alliance/corps will happen more often. we'll see caps in low sec more often.
all of these changes are for the good of the game.
Caps move at the same speed as subcaps with a few implants or lowslots and rigs, stupid fits exist to make them align in 10 seconds and warp with cruisers. Your run-of-the-mill logistics will be capital, not size-appropriate. |

Can that be broken down into type of posts per alliance? I'd like to see which of those are crying and which are actually posting constructively? |

Julian Aldurald wrote:Another anti blob mechanic that came to my mind is limiting jumps that use cynos per solar system.
Basicly there should be a 'natural phenomenon' that is caused by ppl jumping on a cyno in system to spread out energy (basicly build up a counter that is incremented by the mass of the jumped after each jump in the current solar system). The energy/ counter should 'cool down'/ disband linear over time again. After a certain degree this energy should cause the system to get 'heated up' and starting to get strong enought to jam all cynos system wide immediately and due to that prefenting all further jumps into the system from occuring.
In addition if capitals and stuff are allowed to use jump gates (and because of the subcaps even if not): The energy will spread out using the stargates in a certain degree and affect neighbor system to heat up by a small part of the amount as in the own system as well. This may happens recursivly, at least to a certain degree.
This concept might not be perfect or as such filed but I wanted to share the general idea with you.
Any concept which guarantees the side which arrives first a 100% victory is a leap backwards.
Edit: they could just gate into the system if it's "overheated". |

Is it possible for CCP to re-visit the issue of supers and titans being able to dock? Do you really think that with all the previous changes in addition to what is being planned, it still makes sense to keep these ships out of stations? Supers and Titans at this point would see a fitting and EHP poke. Carriers should see their drone bay split into 2, 1 large one for Fighters and a BS sized one for regular drones. Supers and Titans should never be allowed to dock! The pilots in them made a conscious decision to fly space coffins, they had along time of training, building, gathering ISK to change their mind. They knew what they were getting into! Also, Titans are bigger then some stations...
They also knew that their jump range would be cut horribly at some point?
Your quest for GRR GOONS is grasping at straws at this point, maybe go away for a few weeks and come back to see how the forum have exploded over the patch? |

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another forum user. My bad, my phone auto corrected that your not alone there, once on the DUST Forums a long time ago my phone autocorrected reticule to well... male reproductive piece that sounds like that Needless to say everyone quoting that was totally lost as to where the argument was going after that point and the entire thread devolved faster than RvB Comms
Why would you be discussing handbags on the DUST forums?
Also I'd like to express my concern over BLOPS range nerf so this isn't off-topic. |
